the story behind the brand

I’ve always loved taking pictures! My grandfather used to do film photography and I used to watch him in the dark bathroom making film come alive. It’s always been a bit magical to me. Even back then, I probably knew that one day I’d walk this path.

“My photography is a part of me — the way I see people and the world.”

In 2009 I got my first camera - Canon EOS 1000D, after saving up for it while working as a lifeguard in the US. When I bought it, I had no idea how to shoot with it, which is why it took some time for me to learn how to take professional photos. And while I was figuring out what ISO and diaphragm were, life happened and I got a job in the good old corporate world.

Fast forward 10 years, during which I never stopped learning and improving my skills, in 2019 I waved goodbye to my 9-5 and picked up my camera to venture into entrepreneurship full-time. And while working for myself has its ups and downs (I occasionally talk about this on my IG stories), I’ve never felt more fulfilled by what I do!

What I consider the best aspect of my job is the positive impact I’m able to create in another person’s life through my work. I not only help you see yourself as beautiful as you deserve to be seen, but I also freeze that moment in time in its most authentic and unique shape and form. You will forever have your very own portals of time that allow you to re-live and re-feel how precious that moment was, whether you were celebrating a special occasion (like an engagement, a pregnancy or a birthday) or just soaking in your everyday magic.

the art of visual storytelling

You can rely on me to -

01)

Tell your story

Every client has a different story to tell, which means that no two photoshoots are the same. Therefore, I have a very individual and client-focused approach to shooting. My goal is to have you look back at the final photos and appreciate not just how beautiful you looked, but also how special you felt in the moment.

02)

Keep it simple and magical

I prefer it when my photography captures the essence of the moment. The real magic hides in your smile, your personality, in your presence, and not in unnecessary decors and details. When shooting together, we go by the principle - “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.

03)

Create a safe space to be yourself

We all have our own insecurities, but when working together, I will create a safe space where you will feel comfortable to relax and be yourself. I want you to feel confident in your skin, so I can capture your unique traits, genuine emotions and those special quirks of your personality that make you who you are.

Behind the artfully taken imagery, there’s me —

Hi, I’m Masha (as you may have guessed)!

creative, minimalist, coffee connoisseur

Photography is not my first run at having my own business. I used to own a coffee shop. While this isn’t the case anymore, my love for coffee is ever-present. And in fact, one of the top things on my self-care list is diving into a brand new (sci-fi) book while sipping on my favorite medium roast coffee. I read a lot. Like, really, a lot! In fact, I got through the whole “War and Peace” series and I didn’t even find it as boring as everyone thinks.

As well as a photographer, my other full-time role is as a mom to a curious and very energetic little guy, who seems to always find a way to enjoy the moment (you can catch a glimpse of Max on my IG every now and then). I always encourage him to be himself because I’m not one to try and fit myself or the people around me in a box. Authenticity as a core value is present not just in my work and my brand, but all throughout my life.

So trust me when I tell you that I get you may be a little worried about how your toddler will behave in front of the camera. But when it comes to family photoshoots (or any kind of photoshoot for that matter), I have to hand it to the little ones - their carefree I’m-just-being-myself attitude is their best asset. Because the key to a truly authentic photoshoot experience is showing YOUR unique personality and having fun doing so.

I feel most productive at home, in the morning, after I’ve had my first coffee and my kid is off to kindergarten.

Fact 01 / 10

The perfect holiday for me would be at a seaside with a hike trail nearby, as I equally love hiking and relaxing at the beach.

Fact 02 / 10

A prism is a must-have accessory for a photoshoot. I love creating interesting effects and playing with the light.

Fact 03 / 10

I found love at a wavepool in Wisconsin Dells, WI! He was a lifeguard, I was a lifeguard. I mean, who can resist a lifeguard?!

Fact 04 / 10

My favorite season is spring. Maybe because it’s my birthday season, but who can really tell 😉

Fact 05 / 10

I love filter coffee and I always have it black, no sugar! Two cups minimum. My preferred weapon of choice is French press, but I’m dreaming of buying a Chemex.

Fact 06 / 10

Venice, Italy is my favorite place I've visited. There is something about this city that my soul just feels at peace there. The water, the colors, the scenery… Everything just works.

Fact 07 / 10

My personal energy givers are short travels without my kid (sorry not sorry), a walk in the forest, and a little bit of therapy  - sometimes with friends over wine 😜

Fact 08 / 10

My biggest inspiration are the people I know and love, my friends, my husband and even my son. They all show kindness and bravery and it all lies in those little things that often go unnoticed. And while it may not be even obvious to them, I see it too and I am inspired.

Fact 09 / 10

The first camera I bought for myself was a Canon EOS 1000D. Back in 2009, with the money I earned on a Work & Travel program. I was shooting with it for years! Loved it. It’s still somewhere at home, I couldn’t bring myself to sell it 🫣
